external wastegate question

Have a question about external wastegates, I am getting ready to upgrade to a ported and cliped 20G with a FMIC. I want to upgrade to a tial external wastegate, but I'm concerned about how loud the wastegate is when it opens. I don't want it to be obnoxious for daily driving. Any help woul begreatly appriciated.

That is one of the most amazing sounds man!! Do you know if its possible to get a external wastegate on a stock exhaust manifold with a Big 16 G Turbo? (just curious)

as long as the wastgate stays closed it is not obnoxious. which means under normal driving conditions, it will not be loud.

as for the internally gated 16g, you can get a wastegate vented to the atmosphere without going to an external WG. that might get obnoxious though.

I meant O2 housing when i wrote wastegate.

Just run the pipe back into the exhaust and it will be perfectly quiet. Just put your manifold and turbo together on a bench and with your downpipe bolted up. Then drill a hole out of the exhaust pipe and use a grinder to open it up. Make your dump tube so that it runs right into that hole and weld it up and let it cool completly on the bench before you take it appart.

It will be a sold downpipe with the wategate tube welded in and presto, quiet as a mouse.

This is my setup (yes im not a great welder no need to remind me) just paint it up after with some VHT caliper paint in silver and it will look like the cats-ass.

Can you vent out on a stock t25?? I have a stock turbo and a delta wastegate and i love that noise? Can i just get my manifold and weld it to there?? with a stock turbo??? just for the noise?? will it decrease performance???

If all you want it for is the sound, get an O2 housing that dumps to atmosphere. You won't lose any performance and may pick up more solid boost control (no more creep). Look at www.122performance.com and www.punishmentracing.com and Joe P. makes a good one for $150.

can some one get on the aim and let me know how i can do it?? i have a stock manifols stock turbo and o2 housing. But i have a delta gate. do i open the stock flapper and leave it open how do i control boost w/ a mbc??? can someone help me out here??
