Which cam combo is best for a street car? The cams will be for a 97 Eclipse GS-T. Should I go with the 264/272 or the 272/272??

264/272 for street driven.

I think you can get about 40whp out of that.

The 272s would be limited by the 2G head flow restrictions ( versus a 1G head ). If you had an intake manifold and a nice tubular exhaust manifold or a ported one, then go for 272s all the way, but I would say just stick to 264s for the 2G head.

Just a thought.....

I have 264/272's. They provided a really nice gain. Awesome pull to redline, but then again most cams will give that. AMS did I big cam test a while back, not sure if you've seen it. It might push you in the right direction. It's on a 1g, but it should be fairly similar. Oh, and about 272's and a 2g head, ya there is basically no gain over the full 264's when you go to 264/272, but if you feel that you might open up the 2g head some or slap on a sheet metal intake, I'd say go with the 264/272's http://www.automotosports.com/cam_test.asp
