Alright I installed a new water temperature gauge and tapped in to the exsisting temperature sensor for the reading. The gauge reads like 230 degrees while I'm running. IS that how hot the car runs, or is the gauge off a lot?? A new sensor came with the gauge so shuld I try removing the stock one and replacing it or is it just a problem with thte gauge????Thanks

The reading is most likely correct. I'm surprised you are that high without a FMIC. The factory gauge is a POS and rarely moves from the middle postion. After I installed my Autometer gauge, I read 240 and this was later verified with a logger. This whole time though, the factory needle still read halfway! 230 is too high and your ECU will be pulling some timing because of it. You may want to do a coolant flush and go more like 70% water instead of 50/50. Also Water Wtter is a good product. A bling bling Fluidyne radiator will also fix your problem:D

I would try verifying it with a pocket logger before I freak out. The stock gauge will still read half way at 230. But if your temps are that high you are in big trouble.

How the hell are you guys getting your cars that hot? I peak 210 degrees with a FMIC on open track days with ambient temps at 80-90 degrees after 45 minutes. Temps never go over 210 in traffic either.

Do you have ducting to the radiator?
