sorry i didnt update my profile... i have a tsi now so what kinda gains would you think i could get from one
 
If your stock, you are not going to have any horsepower gains, in fact, you will lose horsepower.

So, give us some more info that we can work with and we might be able to help you.

is this really true? Wouldn`t one get any hp gains out of cooling down some of that stuff that T25 pushes out?

i thought it would hurt the t-2slow, trying to make that small turbo push all the air throught all that extra piping.

Yes they can be too large, however most FMIC's for DSM's like the Greddy unit are not really that large so they are O.K. on a stock turbo (maybe a 14B not really a T25) if your running a lot of boost.

If you were to get a Spearco 2-216 (which is 10.8 x 28 x 3.5) you would probablly run into some problems because that's a huge core thats Bar & Plate and it flows a piss load of air.
 
You will almost certainly see gains, however small. Its almost impossible to go too big on even a stock DSM. If you put a race core on even a 220whp car you would see gains. You might have to turn up the boost a little to see gains on a very stock car, but you would not be risking anything with the extra couple psi. You would see gains with no other modifications.

Our stock intercoolers suck, and our turbos really arent all that small. The stock DSM intercooler is badly undersized from the factory.

Of course, if you went with a full-blown big ass pile of crap truck IC, you might lose some hp.
