Is it posible to remove PCV valve and what is gona hapen if it is removed. What are the + and what are the - ?How do I do that? Thank you in advance.

yea yea i already have breater filter there but I realy need to know about the PCV valve.I heard that u can remove it and then leave open the valve cover hole and plug in the intake menafold hole.If I do all that will I have any problems. Will the engine runs with no problem?

if you just have a open hole where pcv was and you dont have a filter there or a can its gonna spray oil around i would think, so if you dont mind having oil sprayed around on your engine then it wont hurt anything i dont think. but you would need to plug the hole on the intake manifold.

o yea I know that it ll spay oil around and i know I ll have to put catch can and plug the intake manifold. My main concern was will i get any engines problem doing that, but I gess I wont so ima go ahead and do it.

i guess i dont really undestand what your going for, but i tryed to help!hehe:p

I dont know if it can be removed with out trouble but if you do you need something to plug the hole. Oil will go all over the place silly due to laws of physics upon acceleration.

You want to vent the hole, not plug it. Route it to your catch can.

Don't plug it up. Your engine needs to breath. I have a catch can where it would vent into the intake pipe and the stock PCV Valve running into the intake manifold. I guess you could run that to a catch can too?

Is it just me or is the pcv valve connected to the intake manifold

Whats all this talk of it going to the intake pipe??????
If your talking about the little elbow coming out of the valve cover thats not a pcv valve thats a breather valve, to recirculate the boost pressure that enters the valve cover.

If i'm not mistaken I thought the pcv valve was a 1 way valve that allowed boost pressure in for reasons I'm not sure of. And to keep valve cover oil out of the intake manifold at the same time..

Ok,I ll do a catch can but I wana know can i keep my PCV valve as a conection between the hose that will go into the catch can and the valve cover.Im asking cuz the PCV valve seems to be closed. If it close how will the engine breat trough it?Or I'll have to remove the PCV valve and use someting that alows free flow for conection between the hose and the valve cover?

yeah you guys are confusing the PCV valve with the breather on the side of the valve cover, they are different and do different things. i dont know the answer to your question but i know that the PCV valve is not what everyone is talking about

I did catch can and after a short test drive I got oil liking out of my oil cap?I have never had oil leaking out trough my oil cap.But now right after I did this I got leak. What is going on.Is it true that if we do that the oil presure is going to rise up and can cause leaks from valve cover gasket hoses and oil cap? Both PCV hole and Breater hole open for free flow so I dont get it.PLZ help here.

From what I understand, one way to go about doing it is as KPT4321 stated.

Plug the intake manifold hole.
Hollow out the PCV or use a fitting and run a hose to a catch can/filter, and let it vent to the atmosphere. Also have the other vent(on the passenger side of the valve cover) vented in the same manner. The link above outlines how you use the same catch can for both vents.

Further: If you're going to use the PCV and "hollow" it out....it's tough. It took me about and hour and a half with a hacksaw, punch, hammer and drill to get it drilled out. If I was to do it again, I'd just buy the fitting, that's for sure.

Update: Since removing my PCV Valve system(as above, 2 vents), I've rid my car of the phantom knock(up to 16 counts) I've been trying to find since February! I don't know if this is case specific, but if you've got some phantom knock problems, do a boost leak test, and remove the PCV Valve system, if it's leaking. I tried buying a new PCV Valve, but it was faulty, so I removed the system instead. Obviously it's better to have that system, but this is what worked for me.

Hope this helps someone. BTW: My motor is recently rebuilt and I haven't seen any oil leaking out of anywhere.
