I am looking for setups that other people are running at the track. I have an IHRA event in the next month and was looking for some ideas.

Please tell me your mods (if not on this site)
What type of gas you are running??
How much boost..
How much timing (if you can)..

Also suspension setups
Tire pressure..
What tires??
What wheels??

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks...

This is something I have been wondering.. Why does everyone say to us c16?? What octane is that?? It is leaded fuel right??

C16 is made by VP fuels and is leaded 116 octane. Its like crack for DSM's. You can run on the ragged edge on A/F ratios and still not have a problem with knock. Plus the ECU give more timing and you can run more boost. I run 18-20 psi on pump and 30 on c16 with a leaner fuel curve and still 0 knock.

How much timing are you getting running 30 psi of boost on c16??

Between 18-20 degrees. With a little more messing around I hope to get to a constant 22 degrees. I run straight c16 at the track, its not mixed with pump gas. I drive the car until it almost completely out of gas, diconnect the fuel line and add an extension, then use the fuel pump check plug on the 2G to run the fuel pump to pump the pump gas into an extra fuel jug or a friends car that is not racing. Then I put 5 gallons of c16 in and I'm ready to go. C16 is tough on the 02 sensor though. They only last about 1 -1.5 years if you race a lot. By a lot I mean every week.

Only change for race day is I go C16 gas and 20-25 psi of boost.

2G, T28, small Greddy FMIC, AFC, all supporting mods, Tokiko shocks on stock springs at full stiff all the time, 22psi (drops off to 20psi), 19degrees timing, tire pressure at 25psi.

1G, 16G, stock SMIC (soon to have FMIC), AFC, VPC, all supporting mods, Eibach springs and AGX shocks (rears on full stiff, front on middle setting), 22-24psi, C16, 22-25degrees timging, tire pressure at 25psi.

One thing about C16... do not mix it with pump. Drain your tank and then put it in. You wouldn't think there was a difference, but it is huge. Reset the ECU and go.

That is the info I am looking for.. What has your 1G ran??

Best run for the 2G was 13.3@104. best run for the 1G was 12.9@105.

My tunng on the 2G is perfect. If I could drive better, I would have a 12.x run on her.

Tuning on the 1G is much to be desired. My VPC/AFC combo is all backwards in what it does to the car. She runs so lean at WOT that it is a pain to tune. On C16 last Friday, I had the AFC at +22 and boost was at 22-25psi and it still had knock and O2s were at .84. The messed up thing is at 15psi, when my WG or MBC took a dump, not sure which one yet, I got no knock but my O2 was still .84. You'd think it would be higher running less boost. The car is a freak. hopefully I can figure out what is wrong tonight.
