Has anybody bolted an external WG onto a stock exhaust man. I want to weld a Tial flange onto my stock man. but worried about it cracking. Also has anybody ceramic coated there manifold to help with heat. Thanks

Buschur Racing put an HKS external wastegate onto one of their ported 2g manifolds. I'm not really sure how though. I didn't install it and the car was stolen before I had it long enough to have any problems.

Yes people have ceramic coated their parts before. Hard numbers for heat reduction I don't know. I'm sure it helps, and sure couldn't hurt. I'd suggest the exhaust manifold, and o2 housing. The turbine housing wouldn't hurt either. I'd love to get my stuff coated but I'm running tight on funds.

I run a 2g mani with a TIAL 35mm hanging off of it with no issues.

Thanks for the replys, Im having a hell of a time with boost creep with my b16g so im just going to get a tial external and be done with it. Just wanted to make sure other people have done it with success. Thanks

i have a 2g mani with an ex. wg flange from turbonetics off the #1 runner with a Mark II deltagate, running a 50trim as well might I add not many probs. except finding proper fitment. Find a good shop that will do it. I will have mine up for sale soon, since i want a tubular design and ill be able to run an upgraded o2 housing.....

I've ran a few of them, Make sure that you dont have clearance issues with hood/rad fans... Just some brain candy: You can also get a external dump o2 housing, pull your internal flapper, and mount your WG on the dump tube...
