but i have a question. having the wastegate dump into the atm, will that cause any problems on a stock car?? i know it probably wont be street legal (big deal, i know where ot get my sticker) but will it cause any problems? the rest of the exhuast will be 3 inch with a muffler of unknown origin at this time. will the headers cause any problems also?
i am planning to get a 16 g as soon as i have my head rebuilt and cams, as well as a burschur intercooler. what do you guys think?

Don't have time to write a detailed response, but turbo cars use a manifold, not headers. The manifold of choice is a 95+ eclipse manifold(or an evo manifold if you are a bit more spendy). As for the external dump O2 housing, some other folks might be able to offer more insight on that one.

You don't need a header at all if you have a turbo car. Get a manifold. Manifolds are for turbo!

Im sure the header will work great but not any better than a 95+ manifold like the other guys said. It's really a waste of money unless you have a full blown race car. Dumping to the atmosphere will not hurt anything except your ears.

Since you are going with a 16G there is no reason for the headers since a ported 2g manifold is good for up to 400hp (if memory serves me correct), and the Big 16G is good for only 375hp. Tubular headers are only for major HP, and ones worth buying are gonna set you back atleast $900 (as opposed to $250 for ported 2g).

ok, so let me check this all out, i can use the o2 housing with the wastegate dumptube, but its gonna be loud? is there any gains to be expected form this? any problems to be expected?

You can check out my o2 external dump on my web site, but let me tell you this it is loud. The good thing is even with a t3/t4 50 trim, internal gate, and 2.5" exhaust I have no boost creep. At WOT and the o2 external dump it will scare people for sure.

Make sure to get a 34mm flapper on your 16g when you get the turbo. The maifold is a complete waste for the 16g. The dump tube can only hurt your ears, and get you tickets.

If you like doing everything so completely the first time around, why are you getting a 16?

John... I agree in that it will be loud as hell with a vented o2 dump -- but there are performance gains to be had.... including but not limited to -- less exhaust gasses forced through the exhaust system at WOT -- less exhaust gas = less pressure in the exhaust all together.

That is one of the key reasons why my external is vented and not plumbed back into my exhaust.

As the manifold goes... I would stick with a 2g or EVO3 mani, unless you decide to go full garrett -- that is the only reason why I ditchec my stock manifold.

The "Tubular Manifold" or whatever the hell you want to call it that I have now, rocks. Better flow then stock IMO -- but that is just my idea, I am not going to argue with everyone about that.

If you decide to stick with the 16g, get a ported 2g o2 or EVO o2 housing and you'll be fine. If you want a little gain and a lot of noise out of it, get the vented o2 housing.

Do yourself a favor though, keep your old o2 housing for the first 3 months after getting the vented one if you decide to go that route -- that way you can change to a normal style if/when the dumped version gets on your nerves too much.
