need help fast....a low of white smoke....

I just got my car back from my brother. When i come up to a light smoke starts pouring out of my exhuast. it smells horrible, i have no cat but its not that smell. When i take off from a light and still smokes bad for a while. then because i am going it doesn't smoke as bad. Whats going on. I have 155,000 miles on stock engine. hacked intake and 3" exhaust. whats wrong with my DSM? I hate driving her right now cause i know she is hurting.

Well here is the bad news. White smoke is burnt coolant. This may mean several things. A cracked head or blown head gasket. I would do a compression check. Your compression should be around 180, but just as long as they are similar then its just wear. But more than likely you have blown a head gasket.
