As of right now I have Greddy Upper and Lower intercooler piping,
K&N FIPK, Greddy Type-S BOV& Greddy FMIC. So what else should I get before I even think of buying the FP Green? And also should I build up a 6-bolt engine and do a swap or should I just build up my 7-bolt? My goal is low 12's high 11's. Thanks

Matt,

I seriously LOVE your sig dude:thumb:

Anyhow greens rock! back it up properly and you wont regret that turbo! Good luck!!

I just wanna make sure I dont blow up the engine with the mosterous green!

Not to get off topic, but its still wise to have an EGT gauge regardless if you have a logger such as dsmlink or not.

As the old saying goes "knowledge is power". The dsmlink, or logger, tells you what the computer thinks is going on. The EGT tells you what's really going on.

Bullshit, dsmlink is a more powerfull tuning tool than an EGT gauge would ever be...

An eloquent response; have you tried poetry?

I never said that one was better than the other. The question was not whether one was better than the other.

Ohh well, I wont waste my breath, you buy the egt sensor if it makes you feel happy.

It is kind of like people who buy the autometer air fuel gauges. Sure a lot of people have them in there car, but nobody really tunes with it.

Umm, you can't really use the Autometer gauges for tuning; they don't have the resolution necessary for WOT. I'm not sure what your point is here.

That is CRAZY a STOCK 7-Bolt can handle 12 sec passes with a big turbo with fuel mods, more air flow, and dsm link!!!! mmmmmm.. Thanks

Did you have a bad day or something? Try to keep it on topic. There are times when you aren't logging on your car an EGT sensor is always a nice safety device regardless. Noone is saying that the DSMLink is not a good tuning device because its great.

It's a nice to have, not needed. The green is not HUGE but it is not small,; it's a 50 trim which is probably one of the best sized turbos out there for 2.0 DSMs. I'd say (benchracing)with some of the supporting mods and a GOOD tune on C16, you can do 375-ish whp at about 25+ psi which should put you right about where you want to be (time-wise)in a heavier 2g with a good driver and 60'. I'd say don't set your goals for times, but set what trap speed you want to do in the 1/4 instead because it varies alot with different drivers. As for your stock motor, the 2g head and intake manifold might be restrictive but, I'm not sure cause I dont lookup 2g information.

See my sig (I have a Green). I made 330/290 on 18.8 lbs of boost with crappy timing on pumpgas. There is alot of room for improvement imo, enough to make around 370 on pumpgas.

Cool ! Yeah I was looking at Dre's GSX and he runs 20 psi which gets him an 11.7! From what I see he has stock internals.. But is that pushing it to much?

I was just trying to keep the numbers down so some people won't go around telling people they have 400 whp on 25 psi just cause they have a green w/ some suporting mods. There are quite a few locals who make 330-340 on pump at about 20 psi on 20g's and 50 trims with 8.5 compression. You also have a 1g throttle body which helps, by how much, I don't know. If I remember right, there was another who made 403 on his 50 trim stg 3 wheel .63 a/r 23 psi(no headstuds), but was on C16 on his stock 2g head/tb/intake mani. but I just didnt want the starter of this thread to be too optimistic on power levels that could be had with this setup.

So could I tune my car with a Pocketlogger just about as good as a DSMLink. Is it good enough? Thanks for all the advice. Dang I wish money grew on trees LOL!
