Columbus,
I'm in the middle of doing a 6 bolt swap and have a question about the oil cooler. I picked up a different filter housing that points the filter towards the front instead of sideways to make a little more room. It eliminates the oil cooler however and I was wondering how many people are doing this and if it will really effect anything. The regular cooler seems very small to me anyway so I'm kind of questioning its importance.

Defidently keep the oil cooler. I also had a question though, I heard the spyder's don't have oil coolers is this true? Where is the stock one located at so I can check mine out. Thanks

oil cooler is still there man. its now just internal rather than external.

I'll check more into this and repost. I got the part from Buschur so I'll call and find out why he told me to run it this way.

Pick up a 90 oil filter housing and external cooler. Thats what Im going to run.

i'd do that too. the one you have is mostly used on race cars that only see the track on short passes. not really enough time to heat the oil to the level were its gonna hurt something.

90 housing and external oil cooler should help performance and long reliability. dont forget that the housing comes with its own thermo, so you just cant tap the one you have.

There's the *really* nice, but very expensive Greddy oil cooler kit that gets rid of the stock water coolant system, or you can build your own out of seatrab stuff somehow.

Me, I'm just going to go for a Greddy kit once funds allow.

...or maybe make your own using a B&M oil cooler. I know B&M makes cheap coolers that work real well. Just a theory; no experience here. Anyone tried it???

Yes, get a 90 turbo oil filter housing and oil cooler with lines. Put an ad up on dsmtrader, you can probly get the whole setup for $100 or less.
