im going to day for a 95 tsi awd auto i was wondering if 5 speeds only enconter crankwalk or are autos at risk too.

...where exactly is the crank pulley?...

Pop the hatch in the rear, and pull the plastic panel off in front of the rear tailights. Now, open the glovebox and put a 12mm wrench in there, and then get under the car in the rear and reach behind the differential and you should have access to it from there. Hope this helps.

Regards,

noslaser, you're too funny! maybe we should help this guy out...what do you think. At least I will point out to him that we dont have a differential in the rear, but inside the tranny in the front and the plastic cover over the tails has nothing to do with it nor does the glovebox or wrench....its still funny though.

The Crank Pulley is actually located on the driver side of the motor, near the bottom of the engine. You'll have to turn the passenger wheel out to the left (or take it off) and you may have to remove a splash-guard, and it's the largest pulley, and also the lowest on the car, and it will have 2 belts on it. Hope this helps better than my other post. ;)
