Has anyone thought of the intercooler from an EVO. I don't know what list price is but I know where I can get them brand new for about $700. This would be the stock FMIC from a '03 Lancer Evolution. It looks big enough and it has inlet and outlet on opposite sides.
Just a thought

Hey does anyone know if you could run a GM blowthrough MAF on that Victory Performance intercooler piping? I like the looks of the Victory Performance pipes but I would really like to do the GMMAF conversion. If anyone can give me some insight on this I'd really appreciate it.

Can you tell me why(and be specific) is the Spearco FMIC "better". From the info I have gotten, The concept of "better" depends on the intended use. The race application FMIC's actually restrict air flow to keep them working at higher speeds. The FMIC from and EVO is a large area FMIC and it will not restrict the airflow as much as a race FMIC from Spearco (or whoever). I, myself, would rather have a FMIC that allows me to drive the car daily without any concern for the cooling system.
. I see blowing my money on that Spearco FMIC from the Ebay link as a waste of time and money.
Anyway, I still think that when it comes right down to it, what's right for one person is not right for another.
[If only the best racing parts were worth buying, then NO-ONE whould have a lousey 16G turbo on thier car. We would all have some crazy hybrid thing that make like 1500 HP. and everyone would run sub 7sec 1/4 miles. Isn't life grand?

[Who said I was having cooling issues?? I am not having any problems with the car and I would say it hasnt felt this good ever. This would be my daily driver as well. ]
I never said YOU had cooling problems. I live in AZ. When a car is not at it's optimal cooling capacity, it usually leads to cooling problems.
[Explain how I wasted my time and money?? I got a pretty damn good intercooler with short route piping for about ther price of a Greddy IC or Apex Core. If anything I got a good deal. ]
I think you did great, YOU GOT WHAT YOU WANTED. That's all that matters.
[Now your just a ass. ]
You said why buy some piece of crap FMIC (that's not even a piece of crap) You said buy a racing one. You said to go ahead and waste my money and time if I want to. BUT SOME HOW, I'm AN ASS?! If maybe you responded to the first post with some dignity and respect I wouldn't have made such a rediculous comment.
THERE'S SOME FOOD FOR THOUGHT.
[If you want to run a Evo FMIC go away, its not my money. My opinion is its not finicially or worth wild to do.
