I listened to some idiot who said i would get increased airflow if i took the honey comb screens out of the MAS, NOW MY Check Engine Light IS ON!I need to get those screens again, can i get that from Mitsubishi?

The part number for the honeycombs is the same as the part number for the MAF. When you order the honeycombs, they also happen to come with a free MAF, and cost the same as a MAF.

I have read that you can order sheets of honeycomb material from places like McMaster Carr. And RRE stores the ones they remove in a Honeycomb cereal box. You might be able to buy one from them.

Do you think mitsubishi would have something like that in stock? I wonder how much a few tiny little screens are gonna cost me, but your saying i get a whole new air flow sensor? Are you talking about just the sensor itself? Or the whole big thing?

Based on his post...you have to buy a new MAF. Call RRE.

Maybe your the idiot for believing him...sorry about your luck.

Just go on eBay or on here and buy a cheapo 1g mas....take the center honeycomb section out of it and cut it up and trim it to fit into your 2G mas. That's what I had to do when I got my DSMLink and threw out the SAFC, it works fine. You can make both side honeycombs for the 2G mas out of the center section of the 1G mas.

Peace.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with the screens, but you CAN take all but the big center one out-- the car will run rough for a few seconds right after you start it back up, but then it should be fine. At least, that's how mine was.

I did leave the center one in there. Its just that my check engine light is on, and my idle is all messed up.

Wow if you could do me that favor and find out what he could do, if you can ship it here for a few bucks that would be great! I gatta get rid of this Check engine light! Ilive in NJ please let me know what you can do

Yea please talk to that guy, you would be helping me out a lot. Let me know how much, and how it goes. Thanx again

Just go to a salvage yard, and carefully pull it out of a MAF there, and you can re-use it on your car for cheap.
