Ann Arbor,
I have 98 :dsm: Eclipse GST A/T (please check my mods). I got only 14.222 @101.61 in the 1/4 mile. My 60 ft is 2.408  (pretty bad and it's A/T). I feel I lost the power at low rpm, but after 3500 rpm......... 20 psi all the way.

How do I improve my low end power, espeacially first gear? Please feel free to suggest.

I hold the brake and rev up to 3000 rpm, then release the brake. Tires spin a bit (first 0.3 second). The rpm will drop a bit to 2000-2300 and it's slow to go back up to 3500 before I get full boost.

you keep holding it and you build boost, it sounds like your just stalling it up to 3k then going before you build any boost, you need to find what the max boost you can launch on without roasting your tires

there's really so much you can do before you go hardcore on your car. Sounds like you need a stutter box :)

why the f*ck would he need a stutterbox on an auto? so he can put it in neutral and build boost then drop into gear and lunch his tranny? thats stupid. stutterbox's are for MANUALS.

you run a 14.2 with an 18g and all those other mods?? my friend has a big16g and runs a 13 with smaller pump and a few less mods

prothane motor mounts would help. and make sure you get a tranny temp gauge so you dont blow your tranny power brakin

First of all buy a new convertor. Something inthe 3500-4000 stall speed. This will be the single biggest improvment to your auto car. Second is the car tuned? If fuels trims aren't correct than these auto cars feel like complete dogs from a dead stop. Third you have other issues because my car with the stock convertor runs 1.9 60's. I trapped at 106-108 depending on outside tempature.

Because 16G is smaller and spolls faster than 18G. And also this is why I asked question here.

Oh yeah. With the higher stall convertor you will be able to use the MSD launch control for consistency. That coupled with a dual stage boost controller can make your car killer out the hole.

you should really invest in a tranny cooler and tranny temp gauge, that way you dont roast your tranny. But like everyone else says, get a higher stall converter, and maybe a shift kit.

I already had the B&M tranny cooler installed (in the stock intercool location). I may change the whole transmission to the bullet proof one (not only the TC) because there is no good tranny shop around here (may be after I break my tranny :p ).

I have end clutch but not shift kit yet. May be I have to order it now.
