Breather line off valve cover... removable?

Hey, I have a Valve cover I got off Ebay. It does not have that line on the left. A hole is there for the line though. Is it replaceable?

On 1Gs that line looks like an L.

I never knew why some valve covers on EBay have the "L" shaped breather line, and some are straight. My 1G certainly doesn't have the "L".. I think they may be off Hyundais.

As for replacing it, you might have to weld something on because I don't think that's a replaceable part.

My valve cover has the 'L' shaped thingie, and I didnt buy it from E-Bay

On the little"L"thingi,the valve cover could be off a MirageDOHC.My GalantRS engine has that L thingi and it does kinda popout if I mess with it enough.

So I can put it back? I will just take the one off my current valve cover and stick it on

JB Weld should do fine up there, hose it off with Brakleen first.

Its friction fit. There is no reason or need to JB Weld it. All you do is take the one from your old valve cover and twist and pull on it with a pair of vice grips. Then tap it in with a hammer on the new valve cover.

i have had 2 valve covers off of talon tsi's that have have that L shaped thing ... i don't know why some have them and some don't but it doesn't effect performance any so why worry about it.

As far as I can tell the 90 degree elbow is a 89-90 thing. I haven't seen one on 91+ cars, their all straight. If you look in the early 1G service manuals they show the VC with the elbow in the diagrams.
