Is it possible the reason I get 12mpg because my fuel filter needs to be changed and my O2 sensor is bad..I don't know for sure my o2 sensor is bad but my cel is on and my car runs extremely rich I can smell the gas and my a/f gauge pegs rich when I go wot..I think it is the one behind the cat because my a/f gauge is hooked to the one up front and the gauge seems to function as it should, unless the o2 sensor can be bad and still send correct volatges to a gauge, any help is appreciated...my mods are intake,dp,exhaust, bov, removed bcs, lower ic pipe...and my boost stays around 11lbs..if you need any other info let me know..thanks corey

yeah... your o2 sensor is probably shot.... I've had one last 50k, another last 5k...... never hurts to replace them.

I average 23mpg

how much are o2 sensors? ..they are really easy to change arent they?..do you have to get it at the dealer?..thanks corey

They are CAKE to replace..... easier if you buy the "socket tool" from sears (do not get a cheep one!!! it will cause problems) and also get a good rust penetrant like PB Blaster (Black/White/Yellow can).

Typically they run about $50-60 each, you can get them from www.mitsubishiparts.cc or conocelli (SP?)

conocelli?? whats that..can you get a sensor at any auto parts store?

also would having a bad o2 sensor and fuel filter make my car seem kind of sluggish..i think it should be faster..thanks

Yes if the fule filter is clogged and it reading the O2's wrong your car is going to be running way rich and may also bog or hesitate besides getting crappy mileage

yeah I kinda figured thanks for the info..was i correct assuming it was the one behind the cat becuase my gauge is hooked to the one up front and the gauge works so it has to be the other one??

No it's the front one. The one after the cat does noting but make sure the cat is working.

well i have a cat eliminating downpipe so does that affect anything? cel was on before the downpipe though..

am I better of changing both and not putting the sensor behing the downpipe in so that it doesnt see any garbage?? and just mounting underneath the car somewhere?/

As long as you replace the front O2 sensor it doesn't matter what you do with the back one.

yah i got my 02sensor replaced for free at the dealer ship cause there was a recall on it....the guy said it would've cost me 250...i was like wtf is that ...oh well at least i got it fo free..... but i still get bad mileage...so it's the fuel filter? probably? cause damn i hate my car cuase of it's bad mileage....everything else is fine...... help me trouble shoot this fellaz....peace

yes im havin the same problem with my CEL on and the reading it gave was that it was the 02 sensor, and this happend right after i put my cat back exhaust on....the only modds i have are the cat back and intake...1 guy said i am running rich in fuel and that its the 02 sensor...but i dont know which 02 sensor i should change???....any help would be great...thanks
