i just got my whole cai and fmic installed and my bov doesn't make a psssht sound it makes like a low tone howl. i don't know if the spring is too tight or too loose? and there is supposed to be a vacuum port that is open on the bov right?

the one on top you run to intake manifold, the other one you can leave off.

You might have a boost leak somewhere, or the spring is too tight. It should blow off under boost regardless. Mine goes off at 1psi, but never did when i had a boost leak

my bov still flutters instead of making the pssht sound. no matter how tight or loose the spring is. any ideas. oh yeah and im running the gm maf with translator.

now it make the psssht sound then flutters. and body have this problem?

please reply with any info

It sounds (pardon the pun) that your BOV is malfunctioning... If you're not seeing a diffrence when you loosen or tighten the adjusting screw then somehow the valve may be getting stuck. If it psssh's then flutters then it's a good indication of it getting stuck. I'm no expert... just my .02. I'd take it back if it's new if not try borrowing another DSMr's Type S, to pin point the problem, I will if you're in Cali.

yeh...I had the same thing...problem was that my screw was too tight...you sure that isn't it...you MUST have the screw in...try loosening it almost all the way then screwing it down 2 full turns...if it sounds better...there you go...tighten it down a couple more turns...make sure it is still good. And keep tightening it until it only makes the sound above 3.5K rpms...

Basically...

it can make the sound under that...just do a couple pulls you'll get the idea...mine sounds really cool..but I think its a little too loose. Still holds 20psi though? So I'll just leave it.

i got it almost all the way out. but at higher rpm's it blows out then flutters. so maybe that as good as i can get it.
