Injector Question.........

That is what many people do. It won't harm anything and it will still give you more fuel (assuming your stocker is the limiting factor, which it usually is). You need to think about the possibility of the 255lph pumps overruning your stock fpr though and changing your fuel curve. I went with a walbro 190 to avoid this.

thanks.....i was wondering which one i should go with and i figured the 190 because im not using CRAZY big injectors....and i was worried about over pressurizing my fuel rail.

with a big pump, the fuel rail is not the issue. The problem comes from the possibility of running rich due to your stock FPR not being able to bypass so much excess fuel back to the tank.

Every car is different. I am running the Walbro 255 high pressure and am not overruning my FPR with my set-up. Go with the Walbro 190 re-wired and have some fun raising the boost a little bit.

i only said it as a general rule, not the end all be all. Since he would want to avoid this problem, it would be best to not take the chance of being one of those who get ovverrun.

It all depends on his future goals. I never thought that I would need a Walbro 255 high pressure fuel pump, then I got a 20G. So once he figures out his goals for the car he can chose a pump. If he thinks he will be going for a large turbo, he might as well buy the 255 and see if it overruns it. If it does, buy the AFPR now. If it does not, he is set for other mods.

Remember:

Mod cheap, mod twice.

And if your going to drop the cash on a 20G I doubt another hundred for a 255 is going to kill you considering everthing else you need to support it. Getting a 255 out of the box is asking for tuning problems. A few people get lucky but most don't. Then you looking at a couple of hundred extra to fix the FPR overrun when you could have just bought a smaller pump to start with. If your staying with the 450's and stock turbo why not rewire it for now so you can turn the boost up a little or just get either the 190 or a 3000GT VR4 pump.

Keep in mind that it's really likely your going to find the existing fuel pump assembly seriously rusted. Both the nuts that hold it on and the fuel pipe can be easily damaged trying to pull the old pump out. Weight that against what your current fuel need are. If you really need more fuel then order a used AWD fuel pump assembly from M&S recycling or another junk yard in a non-rust belt state up front so you won't be down for a few weeks while you try to find one.
