Well, I am about to install my 1G intake manifold...but...there are NO vfaq's on how to do this. Is there one out there?

So it seems I have to remove the fuel rail and injectors just to get at the top bolts. What does it take to get at the bottom bolts? Any help/tips would be great!

Get an open end wrench, 12 mm. Put the box end on the bottom ones and crank little by little. Try not to drop them into the abyss of the back firewall.

Either that, or remove your battery, Cruise control module (if you have it on still) IC piping to throttlebody, all that crap, take off the main intake manifold support and associated vacuum hoses, and wrench it from the side. They're not on that hard.

I did mine while it was on an engine stand, but after swapping engines, that's about the only clearest way I could think of to change it over.

-I think you will have a bit more room from under the car with some long extensions, I always do the manifold off the car.

any tips on making a bracket to mount the ingnition coil would be extremely helpful. Im in the process of installing one on my car.

Easy solution for mounting the ignition coil: Just use a 1G bracket/coil pack.

The real issue is the stupid power transistor. I ended up slicing mine apart, and resoldering all the lines so I could hook it up to the end of the intake manifold instead of the middle of it.

They just MIGHT be long enough. They'll be really stretched though, unfortunately. If at all possible, I reccomend a set of Galant VR4 wires, as they're more than long enough to reach. I tried mounting one of my 2G wires, and I just thought they seemed too stressed.

Yes, you might lose a prescious .000000001 volt due to the length of them, but to me, convience > sparkplug wire performance.

If you feel uncomfortable about using 10 year old coil packs, you can mount 2G coils on the 1G bracket by mounting them sideways on the 1G bracket.
