I did a compression test and I need a new engine (120, 123, 125, 135). WHat should I do? I have $2000 to spend. I can get ross pistons with rings and eagle rods for $725 and the machine shop said that to put the engine together it would cost $600 w/out parts. What other parts do I need and how much? I rather get the engine rebuilt than to get a jdm engine if I have enough money.

i would suggest new piston rings and head gasket instead of new engine. also have your valves. and valve seats checked. those are all the most comon places to find leaks.

I'm asking this because I want an engine that will last. I have a lot of upgrades: 20g turbo, 550cc injectors, 40mm wastegate, custom intake manifold, act 2600 clutch, front mount intercooler, bigger throttlebody, racing pulley, hks cams, etc. Do you think $2000 is enough for a decent rebuild or should I just fix whatever is wrong. I have 180,000miles on my car.

180000 on an engine is a lot. expecially if you have a turbo on it that whole time because the just beats the hell out of an engine. with that many miles i would suggest a newer engine. try to get another 4g63.

are you sure you did the compression test right?? just seems odd that your low on compression in all 4 cylinders.. do you have other problems that led you to do the compression test in the first place?
