hey group,

starting a huge project was wondering if anyone on the list mit be able to give me a good import shop to talk to about a couple of things I need a little more info on before I start this... the project is engine swap... non-turbo to turbo....

swaping a 97 rs 420a to a 46ge(whatever) cyclone japan motor....

bring it on....

just need to make sure I ahve the most updated and correct wiring specification for this before I start and for all you who say what are you thinking.... I can work on it myself and that I am not like most of you who take your cars in to have them worked on or fixed.... thanks for the info...

lots of work... have fun :D geeze im helpful... well i cant help u find a shop.. but if ur thinkin of goin to awd.. dont even bother its not worth the time or money i considered doing it when i owned my gst. which i still do but i bought a tsi awd instead so now i got a taste of both fwd and awd. anyways just goto fwd. as for wiring and shiat ur gonna want to get a different computer, mas, pretty much everything new for wiring harnesses im guessing. im not positive on that but yea.. its gonna be a lot of work itll suck.

:talon:

I really don't think you are ready to do this yourself. You have no clue what you are talking about, you don't even know what engine you are swapping in (4G63, btw).

o god, again and again this question is asked. its been proved not to really be worth it basically. for one the engines are totally reversed for one.

well i guess people on this list just do not have what it takes to be a mechanic... what I mean if it was easy everybody would do it... hence the theory, that not a lot of people have... that what makes it a changle....

trust me IT WITH LIVE!

also I see that you went the easy way and ####ed out and just bought another car... any fool can do that......

dude, why are you being such a dick about this? You tell everyone your doing a swap and then start making fun of everyone. Im sure there are people on this board that know a hell of a lot more than you do. So when people give you criticisim its because they know that NT-turbo swap is difficult and in the end not worth the time and money. Also, to your comment about doing the work yourself, so does pretty much everyone else here, they dont just go to a shop. Well thats all I got to say, your attitude just pissed me off.

PS: Its 4G63

I think the easiest way is to just cut the front half of your car off, and weld on the 93 gst front end. Then bondo up the gaps. It'll be sweet!! j/k man..

If you do a search, you'll find numerious discussions about this. You have to ask yourself if the time, effort, and money is worth the project you're about to take on. In the end, you'll just have a stockish GST that's been severly worked over. Anticipate encountering issues w/ wiring, sensors, etc. You're going to be spending more time troubleshooting that it'll be worth. Why not just buy a GST and put that kinda time and effort into make it fast?

And I see that you went the easy way and made a useless post before searching the FAQs.
