I was running a full 2.5" turboback exhaust on my 2G. Don't laugh but I got tired of the noise and re-installed the stock catback. I still have a 2.5" Buschur downpipe and 2.5" hi flow cat. Anybody have a guestimate on my overall horsepower gain?

nothing since you cant gain horsepower going from 2.5" to stock. id say you lost maybe 10-15 horses.

Actually I installed the DP and cat 1st since I ordered them separate from the catback. The DP and cat arrived several days before the catback. Boost went up 2 psi over stock (I turned my MBC back down to 16psi). So replacing the DP and cat does make power even with the stock catback. I assume not as much as with a free flowing catback though. I'd like to know if anybody has tried this setup. I don't race and I enjoy my $800 stereo more now that I can hear it better.

if your so into stereos, put the catback on and install dynamat. youll have the power and the tunes;)

Dynamatted and added B-quiet sound insulation over most of the rear hatch area. I've found this stuff is great at getting rid of road noise but not so great with the lower toned exhaust noise. I don't race and I'm willing to give up a few horsepower to make my daily commute more tolerable. Can I be faulted for this? To each his own I say.
