The South,
i was wondering if anyone here was running anything bigger than a 50 trim turbo with the supra sidemount. OR if anyone has seen anyone run bigger than a (50 trim) t3t4, mutt 3, green, etc and run successfully. Basically i'm trying to ask what do you guys think the biggest wheel is that i can run with a Supra SMIC...thanks in advance.

I know someone who had muttlv2(like me) on a 1G with a supra sidemount. After about 2 weeks he switched to an FMIC.

Later,

mara has the supra smic on a mutt3(?).. she thinks it works good as far as I can tell. But of course you already knew that

You aren’t going to be able to make any decent power with a sidemount intercooler. It would be a horrible idea for a daily driver. Upgrade now if you want just run conservative boost levels and you should be fine. Start saving your pennies now for a FMIC though to get the most out of your upgrade.

obviously this will be temporary but the reason I do ask is because i don't wanna buy a turbo, then buy ANOTHER turbo later. So i'd like to go with the biggest possible on a Supra Sidemount. i do know it won't make much power on pump gas, but on race gas, it'll be a monster. Another thing was, since the Green is only a 50 trim wheel turbo, is it similar enough to the mutt 3 run a supra sidemount (Andy, i know Mara runs a MKIV sidemount on the Mutt 3) ?

I wouldn’t even bother with the Supra Sidemount. I would just weld some larger inlets and outlets on the stock sidemount ala IRC. Then remove the fog lights and sell them. Then think about either removing the splash shield entirely or completely cutting out the vent that covers the IC. The 150 bucks you spend on the Supra IC could be better spent on going towards the IRC setup.
