Here are a few of my ideas on how to postpone or hopefully prevent CW on either a 6 bolt or a 7 bolt motor. These are just suggestions and are based on what I have read and assumed about CW: Read at your own risk!!! Swain Technology offers low friction coatings for bearings of any kind that increase the load capacity to over 350,000psi which is higher than most race engines see, which could help bearing failure and reduce friction all around to help the motor produce more HP. PerCryo is a company that offers cryogenic metalurgical proceedures that enhance the rigidity and grain structure of the treated metals, which could prevent the main caps from shifting when the head is bolted to the block. Several companies offer main cap bolt sleeves that tighten the tolerences around the bolts that pass through the caps which would help in preventing them from shifting and causing premature bearing wear. I had a 6 bolt motor recently crankwalk on me w/ a factory clutch and believe that anyone DSM or not can suffer from CW. Weither you want to build up a 6 or 7 bolt motor, these suggestions are not harmful to the block itself and in my opinion are cheap insurance against 'The curse of the DSM'. Lemme know what ya think!

The coating is a very thin film, shouldn't affect the clearances of the actual bearing itself.
