Taylorsville,
i bought a 95 talon TSi and the guy threw in everything but a camsheft for a 1g head swap. This is my first DSM, so what does this do?

more fuel and air flows through a 1g head. Alot of work is needed and skill is a requirement. Good luck.

Is your question, "What does a camshaft do?" If so, the camshaft is full of small lobes that push the lifters and valves to do their job inside the engine head. Do you have a 5-speed? You will need to make sure that you get the 5-speed camshafts then. They are different for some reason. Also make sure that you look into aftermarket cams because they will make a big difference in performance if you choose to upgrade.

I am sure you know that and sorry if that wasn't your question. I am not trying to make you sound like you do not know what you are talking about because I am sure that you do. After all, you bought a DSM!

EDIT: Oops! I just read your post again. You were asking what a 1g head swap does. O' well, I will leave that above posted. Maybe it will help somebody! Good luck:)
