make GSX exhaust fit on a GS-T? (2G)

hey all. i've been looking into some exhaust systems now that i'm getting a 6-bolt and 14b turbo in my 97 GS-T (fawking crankwalk!). anyway, my buddy has the HKS Hi-Power cat-back on his WRX, and my friend with an SR20DET 240SX (S14) has the same cat-back on his car. i really like the way it looks and sounds on both cars. but here's the problem... HKS makes the Hi-Power for the GS-T in only 60mm diameter piping... for the GSX, the diameter is 75mm. i don't want an almost stock diameter cat-back for $700... i'm curious if it's possible to make the GSX cat-back fit on the GS-T (i would get a custom downpipe flanged for a cat and test pipe). i realize the cat-back would have to go under the rear axle, and i really don't care about that. i'm just curious if the routing of the GSX cat-back will work on a GS-T. any input?

I really doubt that's worth your time. Get a custom 3" system and cap it with that muffler you like. It will be cheaper and waaaaaay more effective.

m'eh, the muffler is $227.

i want the hi-power because (this is a stupid reason) a) my buddy's WRX has it and b) my buddy's 240SX has it. and seeing as how we are beginning a real "team" i figured i should fit in and match them. plus it's a good lookin muffler. ah well, we'll see how things pan out.

Dude, a GSX exhaust will come nowhere near fitting on your car. An AWD exhaust is comprised of 3 whole bends (and not one over 45deg.), while your FWD exhaust is comprised of a sh*tload of bends (it starts out 90deg. to 90deg. to 55deg. etc). Everything is different. You can't even cut up the AWD to make it fit the FWD, because there are not enough bends to work with.
If you want to match your buddies cars, just get the same muffler bro. Have someone bend up a tube for you.

Buy the muffler and get custom pipe bent or prefabed for you from a cheaper company. You could even buy the system off of a compny for $700 and get the whole turboback system (3inch aluminzed with highflow cat) http://www.slowboyracing.com/Exhaust...turboback.html . If you really want the hks then just buy the muffler and cut the one off of the system you buy. Weld, replace, enjoy

And no there is not enough pipe to get it to fit in place
