My car under normal driving conditions runs about dead center or a lil hotter on the guage. If I do some continous hard runs it will start to get hotter then my liking. I was on the highway last night bout 3 am so i figured I would give her a top end run. Well after holding her at 125mph for a mile or so she overheated. I had to stop for about 30 min and let her cool down. I also added some water. I have not had a problem since and I put about 35-45 miles on her.

Now in my mustang I had a severe overheating problem. Replaced my stock rad with a Fluidyne and NEVER had a problem again. My stang runs very cold now. WIll this radiator help my DSM?

Thanks,
George

I've got a fluidyne but also a fmic and a/c. If I run the a/c in extemely hot weather it'll run a little above normal under normal driving at approx. 35 mph. Just up to the middle of the gauge. Spirited driving with no a/c on , about the same. I need to remove my a/c condenser to clear the path for fresh air to get to the radiator and also because it's a heat generator sandwiched between the fmic and the fluidyne. And I'm sure this didn't answer your question but I don't know if you've got a fmic or a/c.

Get the fluidyne and slim fans, both will help w/ your overheating problem. Also run 50/50 W/C. Good luck!!

Has anyone tried that Water Wetter stuff? Supposedly it can drop your temps something like 25+ degrees, but that's with no antifreeze and just the Water Wetter.

Just a thought ....

I wake up at night in a cold sweat worrying about coolant temps. When I first put my fdyne on the car it ran cooler but not really cool. The key for me was the cooler tstat. That dropped the temp by about 10 degrees over the gains I got with the radiator.

Screw water wetter. There is a product out there called 40 below you can find it at advanced auto. This stuff is the shizzle. Works INCREDIBLY well. All my friends with their race DSMs use it and they have noticed a substantial drop in coolant temps.

Sounds interesting; I will check out "40 below".

What temp thermostat did you use?

So is the fluidyne a direct bolt in on these cars? Mine for my stang was double the size of the factory one but somehow fit in flawlessly. Didnt need anything trimmed or moved. What about on the DSM?

Did anybody ever used NPG coolant (see http://evanscooling.com/main31.htm ) in their car ?

I have about 6 cans of that 40 below I picked up for a few bucks can let you have one for pretty cheap if ya want.

Ha! Sounds like you don't exactly consider it worth it's weight in gold, eh? Did it do anything for you?

i have never used it it was in the shop when I moved in to the house and it has sat there. my roomate used to own a speed shop so there is a ton of stuff just laying around. I did call them however because I was having overheating issues in my shifter kart and was wondering if this stuff would actually drop it 40 degrees, or at least find out how much it would do and he said it was meant for like towing and really doenst even do anything until the temo is over 210. he told me flat out for my shifter kart (I want around 110-120 water temps for it) that this would not work. I was better off with redline. Ill send it to ya for prett cheap though you just pay for shipping and toss in enough money so I can get carls JR (like 5.00) and its all yours.

i had to buy a fluidyne yesterday. the stock tube that you clamp the upper hose on broke off when i *barely* touched it. i was running two 12" fans at $86 apiece that i just bought. i figured i could take one back to summit and knock some money off a fluidyne. i had them look up road races web addy and they price matched it for me. so ill break it down, stock radiator with wholesale discount = $270
fluidyne = $350 -$86 for fan return = $266

hmmm, i wonder which one ill go with? i love it so far. i forgot to put pipe dope on the drain valve and sensor threads so it leaked at first. i said screw it and pulled them nboth out and JB welded them in. no leaks ever again:) the cool thing about it is its a total bling bling factor when you pop the hood. very nice piece of metal.
