Well just after i had the head replaced i was driving around and heard the horrible sounding ticking noise from my engine i knew right away what it was, but called rre anyway for there opion. So i dropped the oil pan and took that oil pump crap off and found out which one it was. I had to take the thing off that holds the bearings on the crank. (by the way does anybody know what to torque those bolts too) And popped off the cap from the piston. The little walls that were supposed to be on the bearing were know longer there and the edges were not even straight. So know i need to get a new bearing but did that affect the rod and crank any?, i just drove it home and parked there when i heard it. I am not to worried about i just ordered a new 1g block from slow boy.

The crank will need to be turned or it'll end up trashing your fresh rod bearings.

Have fun with your swap.

Yep it is time to pull the motor. If the bearing is gone, then the crank most likely is too. You should also check the rod out closely, at least it should be reconditioned, at worst replaced. While your in there you might as well do it all.

can i pull out the rotating assembly before i pull the block out? And do i have to drop the tranny to pull the engine?
