I was wondering I want to do an rebuild on my gs-x but I was wondering how much does that cost??,also what does that consist of, like parts.ok thanks guys

I want the parts and I will have somebody do the work Ex, I am looking for a rebuild kit. Also I have like 500-850 to spend.

if you want a six bolt it will cost you 7020 thats everything but head work at road race thats what ita coasting me right now but i am sure they will do a good job (i hope) and mybe a little this is my thierd motor so it better work .

7020 ? that better be one hell of an engine!! I am sure you meant $720, which is pretty good with machine work.

When I rebuilt, I repalced all seals, bearings, timing belt, rings, (balance belt), water pump and oil pump. I re-used my lifters and rods only. I got al the parts at mitsu, we have a local hookup on factory parts at cost. Parts get expensive no matter what, though.

I cant beleive you guys are blowing that kinda cash. 7 grand is a lot of money. You can buy total-seal rings and a complete rebuild gasket kit for around 500$. Thats what i'm doing along with new bearings and should be more than enough to make the engine like new if not better.

Who wants stock, I did mine to handle more HP. I'm talking new Turbo, pistons, rods, bearings, injectors, and much more. Yeah you can rebuild cheaper than that but when your building a race motor you have to spend the bucks to keep up with the big boys.

Coming from an engine rebuild, you kinda get the itch to buy more stronger and better parts as you are building it. Tell us, what is the reason behind this build up, stronger parts to hold more HP, or an engine explode (my case). A "reason" i think will provide a better estimate, but as far as rebuilds cost, i paid 3555 for a 7 bolt long block from top line, yeah crank walk, bad word, i took mine back apart once i had it in for about 2000 miles almost and i was hearing a noise before it got to bad. I am putting in my old crank and getting 1G rods for it on my 2g pistons. For just rings and pistons, i think DSM motorsports have a rebuild kit for about 700 or 800 something includes ring's, wiseco pistons, and crower rods i think.. its your call...

Some of you are getting a$$ raped on price. I will sell you my long rod Ross/Pauter 2.4L stroker with head work, 1mm over sized stainless valves, 272's, bronze guides, sheet metal intake, and garrett turbo setup with FPR, injectors and stainless lines for $7000. Full long block, you just put it in the car.

Then, I'll build another one and buy some cool stuff with the left over cash

jeff

$7000 is a rip off, I don't care who is putting it together!!!

sorry for being honest

LOL well i dont want to come in here and change the subject a bit but howmuch do you guys think it would cost to rebuild stock wise other than the 2G pistons a 90 TSI 6 bolt?

Mine uses oil REAL bad so mainly i think it just needs new rigs but bearings and connecting rods couldn't hurt at 176,000 miles OMG

it only cost me $2000-$2200 for my forged rebuild including new valves and cams... only labor cost for me was having the block bored over
