Well I hit the dyno tonight. I didnt get the numbers I had hoped for but Im doing a leak down tomorrow and see whats up. We think the engines down on compression. I ran 26psi on 110 octane with conservative tuning I got 393 @ the wheels and 352ft-lbs of torque. But I guess I shouldnt complain since its an abused stock engine no cams no nothing.

255 Walbro
AFC II
2g Mas
IRC Race Core
ported EVO manifold
Victory 02 housing
3 inch exhaust
40mm Tial

Looks like its time for some HKS 272s. Followed shortly by a nice built engine, ported head, and intake manifold.
 
Man thats still 393 HP stock cams and stock intake manifold:thumb: Ill take 393 HP with any turbo;) im sure the L3r has a lot more in it.
 
This is a VERY nice start Delta you know pretty much anything you do at this point will get your more HP. The 272s would be a GREAT choice. You would not believe how much more top end you will have. What were you doing for tuning. Did you have a logger of some sort? Were you logging a/f? I bet if you used some c16 your knock counts would go way down. 110 is nice but it doesn’t compare favorably to DSM crack.

Checking my notes GSX4life made 37x hp on his L2r with internal gate on he stock 2g head with HKS 264s and a FMIC with a lesser core and poor pipe routing. Yet alot of people gave him shit about that. I’m glad everyone here is nice enough that they can realize that 400hp is a lot of power and its the first time out for Delta.
 
My knock sensor was giving me bad phantom knock. I was running really rich on the wideband and the sensor was ROBBING me of serious power so we took it out. I know its alittle on the sketchy side but there wasnt much else we could do. We tuned really conservatively and didnt push it THAT hard. Im looking forward to some big cams now :) Engine is very old and abused. Its been a track car pretty much all of its life before I got it. By the end of the summer Im hoping to have a built engine installed.


PS on the wideband my pulls had an A/F of 11.5 and I was running 25-26 degrees of timing (pocketlogger). So obviously I could have pushed it alittle more. I will post up my dyno chart sunday night.
 
That's some good numbers. With a fresh motor and som big cams you will make more power.
I'm hoping to get my car on the Dyno soon.
Waiting for 272's cams and getting some cooling issue out of the way.
 
At 26psi you are right on the edge of where the L3R starts to get very happy. Every pound of boost above 26 you usually pick up 15-20hp. On built motors with standalones we usually see 475whp at 28psi. Considering your mods, you're off to a good start.

Very nice. Get some cams man!:D Yes, I made 373whp on th L2R, but still caught a ton of crap from people, even though I was still using the stock 2G intake manni and TB, and unported head.:confused: What I , and everyone else with me, thaught was amaizing, was the fact that I gained 25whp between 24-25psi. 25whp from only a 1psi increase in boost is pretty incredible if you ask me. And the air/fuel was 10.9 on that run. 2 runs was all I achieved due to the stub shaft walking out and dumping gear oil all over:cry: Ended up being a pretty easy fix though. I do wish now, that I had gone with the L3R. I have a serious hard on for that 56trim wheel.
 
You've got room to grow. I made 473 whp @ 28 ish psi back when I had my L3R. SAFC, 2G MAS, 720's, 264's.

I will be dynoing your L3r Soon jeff, when I get this phantom knock, and the leaking throttlebody resolved.

I got 272 cams, built motor and ported head. Hoping for some decent numbers.

Yeah I took care of that phantom knock problem I had :) Just remove the sensor :D
 
Here is the dyno chart. Red = pump gas 20psi ------ Blue = 110 octane 26psi.

WOW:thumb: Good stuff, those are respectable and promising numbers... Looks like the turbo really comes on about 4k huh? Those a/f ratio's with the 110octane could have been leaned out a bit and made a big difference...now just think c17 in there and 32psi:D Great numbers man, I am sure TONS more is available with minor changes now...

When I dyno'd 475 with my L3R, I was using a VPC, AFC, 660s, stock throttle body, stock intake manifold, 272s, C16, and a stock ECU. That turbo likes good gas and high boost.

How many lbs of boost? Those are what I hope for later:D
