I need some help picking the size of the RNR O2 Eliminator exhaust I will be ordering for my car this week. Here are the mods my car will have with the new exhaust system.

-Ported T-28 Turbo
-Ported exhaust Manifold
-255lph fuel pump
-550cc injectors
-Apexi SAFC
-DejonTool UICP and LICP
-Apexi BOV
-DejonTool Intake

I can assure you all that I looked on the site for posts similar to the one I'm posting now with no luck, so sorry if this is a repetative subject. I just don't want to go with a 3" exhaust if it is going to be overkill. Any help given is appreciated.

Go 3in.

Also, get a BIG flapper on the T28 so you don't creep.

Ok, I was planning on going with a three inch system but just wanted another opinion or two. Also, about the flapper, is that something I can do myself? I am going to get the turbo from DSMotorsport.com. They have a T28 for $725 with no core charge. I was planning on porting it out myself, so is a 34mm flapper something thats easy to do as well? Thanks for the input.

I would say the 255lph is a tad too much unless you plan to go bigger in the future. DSMotorsports is a standard Garrett T28, not a BigT28 like FP and AGP sell. I would take a look over at AGP or Forced Performance and have a look. They are more money, but able to push more power than the standard T28. I have a 3" on mine. I figured that since I didn't know if I was going big or not, I might as well save myself some aggrivation if I did go bigger and just go 3". Off RnR's site, the difference in price is not enough to justify going with a 2.5" My 2 cents..

EDIT - a wastegate upgrade is easy/hard depending on who you talk to. I would have it done rather than attempt to do it myself...

Good point. After I actually look at it, it's only like $25 more for a FP big t28, and I know a lot of people on the site like FP's sevice and products. Is it pretty safe to do the "core exchange" thing?

What I would suggest you do is find a blown or high mileage T25 on ebay and buy it for cheap, (not more than 50 - 100), and use that for the exchange. All they use is the core (pretty sure at least), compressor and turbine wheels, shaft, and compressor housing are all new parts so I wouldn't worry about the exchange. Another reason to get a second blown one is so that you don't have to be without your car waiting for your Turbo to come back. After it's all said and done, sell your good T25 on here or to some Civic chump wanting to boost his car for 200+. My friend did the exact same thing with his AGP Big28 and it's running like a champ!

i would just go with a 3" system.. yea people say you don't need a 3" system and 2.5 is good enough and has been proven.. but having a 3" doesnt hurt.. and if you ever decide to go that route where a 3" will be more beneficial.. u wont kick ur self for not getting it in the first place..

also.. 255lph is overkill with your planned setup.. and no fpr? a 190lph is good enough.. even good enough for fp green from what ive seen/heard.. with 660s.. and lean the curves via ur afc..

good luck..

I've made up my mind about the exhaust. I'm going to go with a 3" rnr O2 Eliminator. Thanks for all the input. Another question though...

I've decided to step it up and go with an FP Big T-28. So having decided that, is a 34mm flapper a hard mod to do? I understand the point of it and that it greatly reduces the chances of boost creep, but is it something I can do myself, or should I send it somewhere like SBR and have them do it?

Aaagh! Don't do it, dude! Ok, I'm being dramatic, but a 2.5" will be noticeably quieter and won't hang down as much under the car. And with anything but a huge turbo, there's not really any performance difference.

yes, Doug is correct, as he is the man when it comes to 2.5" exhausts. unless you are flowing 350+HP, a 2.5" would be fine. not only are the performance differences minimal, but the 2.5" will show a little more low end torque than a 3" system, where your top end would be higher with the 3" when flowing more air with a bigger turbo.
