Yep thats my doubt which one is better? And what is the diameter of the 2g manifold in inches??

Thanks i dunno

when you mean head port matched, you talk about the engine head or the manifold has to be ported???

The head has to be ported to match the larger openeings on the IM runners.

Later,

Im on the process of swapping my manifolds and im going to put the 1G on my 2G, does any one have any recommendations as far as port matching the head, how to do it, where exactly to port the most or how does it have to come out, any pics, any help will be greatly appreciated. I don't want to mess up and end up having to buy another head. Thanks a lot.

:dsm: Im pretty sure a 1g intake manifold will fit on a 2G intake manifold. but i just wanted to make sure. The change will also be an upgrade for a 2g correct. Thanks ahead of time. Anyone know a good place to find a Cyclone Intake Manifold

Yes it is an upgrade to the 2g manifold. If you are going to put out some good jack on a intake manifold go with a sheetmetal one.

Ya the 1g intake flowed alot better than the 2g. you dont need to do any heavy porting just clen the walls on the inside a dremel and a wire brush. A guy did a tech article on this ill find it for you in a minute!

or you could spring some cash and get a sheet metal intake!

hey guys, i just got my 6bolt that im going to be swaping in to my 2g and i know that i will put the 2g exhaust manifold and O2 housing on the 6bolt. but what about the intake manifold? would the 1g or the 2g intake manifold flow more air?

thanks, jason

The 1G has way bigger ports and flows quite a bit more air than a 2G intake. Also if possible use a 90 to 92 turbo throttle body they are also bigger in diameter than the later years(60mm versus 52mm), but then you will want to use the 2G throttlebody elbow unless you upgrade your ic pipes.:thumb:
