We hear a lot about 7 bolts crankwalking, lets see for interest how many 1g's have crankwalked. May be interesting

Note... According to Conicelli Mitsubishi cars built between March 1989 and the third week of april 1992 have 6 bolts.

i thought it was the 3rd week of may when the 6bolts were manafactured till..? i don't think anyone here is going to tell you that their 6 bolt walked, but any engine can get crank walk,well.. anything short of a wankel, but even then the eccentric shaft could walk although i don't see that posing any serious problems.

Just a thought, you know how you cant view the poll until you vote? Should have a mod edit the poll, just put a dummy option in there called "dont own one" or something so that we can all see the poll...

Yes it is, maybe "6bolt is better" is all a myth.

This isn't exactly a scientific method of polling. Its more like a couple guys on the internet. Let's not jump to conclusions.

I honestly think that Crankwalk is the easy target to blame for a messed up motor.

Most of the DSM guys I personally know that "think" they have crankwalk don't and in fact it ends up being something else that gets fixed.

Like it was stated before any motor can crankwalk and until the guys who claim that they crankwalked show any proof, the numbers are just that.

regardless whether this poll is valid or not, it is still quite humorous to watch the 1g guys defend the 6bolt as their only advantage over 2g :p

2G guys do swap 1G 6 bolt parts into their cars like the bigger rods. Mitsubishi changed the design of the DSM to be lighter as the years went on. My 90' 1G is pretty heavy for a small car, but I know it won't break. I had the choice between a 1G and a 2G , but from all the forums on crankwalked 2Gs and other problems ( like the fast and the furious :) You sprayin'?!?!! ) I chose the 1G for its non-flashyness and stout construction. My 3 bolt rear is leaving soon, so don't ask.

i think i might b joining the crankwalked victims very soon

my 95 gsx is running like crap but here is the thing

i have a 92 jdm galant motor 6-bolt
my dsmlink isnt giving me any screw'd up codes either
i hope its a lose wire somewhereOMG

it was a vaccum leak last nite that i think started this whoel thing, or mayb the new downpipe

say does anyone have some extra weights i can throw in the back of my 1g to just try and make it as cool as a 2g.is there a conversion for the obdII ecu to a 1g,would really like one of those.maybe i could do a 6 to 7 bolt conversion then back 6 bolt.does anyone have a 2g head and intake for sale?i hear those are the shite.also looking for sticker kit.
