This may have been covered before, but probably not to my specific concern LOL. Sorry if I should have searched but I do, do alot of searching throughout the day. But my question is what should I do next, I have a Evo 3 16g that's on the car running low boost until I can get all the supporting mods done.
I have a 255 fuel pump already and re-wire kit, and I have 560 injectors. My question is what should I do next what is my biggest factor that I will need next?
I was considering a FMIC, clutch, FPR, or a tune. If I were to get a tune it would be something to hold me until I can save up for ecm link or dsmlink so probably just a eprom chip. But then I'll need a Eprom ecu which is why I was going to hold off until I can get the ecmlink, and get my ecu swapped to eprom at the same time by ecmlink which will make it cheaper in the long run. I was thinking FMIC since I still have the side mount. While I do have a Greddy FMIC laying around, I don't have good piping (boost leaks). So that's why I was waiting on that. Then there's the clutch which will probably make the most since unless I am easy on it the entire time after I get all the necessary supporting mods.
I just want to help get a solid list on what should be next if that's not a problem, if it I understand should have searched, thanks in advance.

To be honest all of what you listed needs to be done and then some if you want to utilize your setup to its full potential... But you already knew that.
In what order if thats what your asking, Its hard to say without knowing the condition of your car. Let me ask you this, do you have a boost gauge? If not that is the first MOD I would do! Next is finding out if your 16g is creeping past "stock" wastegate pressure! If it is, don't get into boost until you can get it under control. THis is all assuming your maintenance is up to date.

AFter you install your fmic and pipes, get what you need to hook it up right. Do a proper boost leak test and go from there. An AFPR is going to be needed very soon aswell.

Link is going to help you the most but you need a few other things that it seems like your missing before that imo.

oh yes i have a boost gauge.. 16g is clipped no creeping.

timing belt everything is good maintenance wise. Clutch was replaced with a stock one, this one has around 10k miles on it or so
Yes, I am asking in what order.

Cool well if thats the case I would drop that front mount in it since its sitting there. Pick up what you need to get the pipe hooked up. AFter that, build yourself a boost leak tester, if you haven't already. Make sure its holding at least 15-20psi on the gauge once you fix the leaks and you should notice quite a difference at that point. Then I would also be looking into a new or used afpr, after that save for link. Your stock clutch should hold out for a while assuming it was done right and you know how to drive it ;)

Alright thanks alot. and yes I do have a BLT. I'll be taking that advice. Might just go ahead bite the bullet and get a VRSF.
Sorry for the incorrect thread placement.

You NEED an FPR and a way to tune for your injectors. So get those, dsmlink and a wideband before anything else.

A fuel pressure regulator is not needed at this point. We have made as much as 600whp with a stock one. Your money is best spent on other supporting mods.

So getting ECM Link should get the next purchase.

thanks as this was really questionable for me I've heard so many different ideas on this. That I should definitely get one before I even think about putting on a 255 fuel pump

You have 560's installed but no way to control them?

Tuning software should be the primary mod of any car, stock or modded. You could look into a flashable 98/99 ecu or an evo ecu swap, however, by the time you got a tactrix cable to tune it you'd be near the cost of ecmlink lite. If you looked around you could do the entire swap for ~$150 tops.

no I have the stock injectors in the car, 255 fuel pump isn't in the car, just have the 16g on it running wastegate pressure for now until I can get a safe tune to add the supporting mods I have.

If you have a way to tune your engine and have a wideband or have access to one, then you can work with a stock regulator just fine. And if you have a mass air flow based car, you really do not have much to worry about.

If you have a 2G, you will need to drill out the siphon however.

Front mount intercooler. That by it's self would be the safest biggest gain for now. A good one at stock boost is worth 25hp+ Then when you get link or whatever your ready to goooo.

On my car waaay back in the day on a 9:1 motor at stockish boost I would trap about 92, bolting on a $59 ebay core I picked up 6mph.

With nothing else other than bolting it on? No increase in boost/etc? If so, that's very impressive.
