but do u really actually need it?

Ive never seen somebody do that to a turbonetics manifold and garret turbo.

the manifold definately needs it. not because the ports are too small, i did it to correct the imperfections in casting. the runners were all off center, and the collector was in need of some reshaping, and one of the runners needed to be opened up. consequently because i opened up the collector, i needed to do it to the turbine.

That looks good. what kind of bit and tool did you use for porting that? Im guessing an air grinder with some type of bit for cast manifolds.

actually i didn't have my carbide bits in when i did it. i used a stone first, then a series of cartridge rolls unding with a 120 grit one. i didn't polish the runners because its going to be coated, so that would be a waste of time. i used a milwaukee electric die grinder. i avoid air tools if there is a suitable electric version, and this tool works quite nicely.
