ok me and my buddy the other day take a spin in his car and just cruise for a while well he pulls over to the nearest gas station cuz we were notcing that a really loud noise was coming under the hood.. well we popped the hood and his intake pipe had come loose and came off.. but no sign of hesitation took place so wat we heard was the turbo when it was spoolin.. now my qeustion is wouldnt the car have staled or something or can u really have the intake off and run it with the 14b.. ???? when i first got my car 2 years ago i took my intake pipe off just to see it would do and my car staled every time i launched.. so if someone can help me out thanks :)

You can run it without the tube clamped to the turbo, but's you must leave the air sensor plugged in, which you probably didn't when you took yours out, and your friends was plugged in when his came loose. It's not advised you do this though, you wouldn't want to suck something in there and shred the wheels, as seen in the latest Turbo Magazine.

They weren't really car specific articles, just general turbo problem diagnosis, etc. They also didn't say what went in, but there were a few different pics and each of them looked pretty nasty, wheels entirely shredded, chunks missing, etc. This has to be the best issue yet, it also has a very broad explantion of how to read compressor maps.

im not sure if it would make the car run lean cuz once it spools wouldsnt it be sucking in air?? correct me if im wrong.. i have seen turbos larger ones of course that run open to the atmosphere so y couldnt a 14b work??

oo so does this system only work with larger turbos or basically every turbo..i dont plan on doin this but im just curious.???

some cars, like most hondas, have it stock. i am buying one called the HKS VPC. for DSMs they run between $700 and $1200. the AEM EMS is another option.

works on any car with any turbo....or NA

you can't be running the stock mas and do this. you must be doing what is called 'blow-through' where you read the airmass after the turbo.

doing this is turbo independent. It is dependent on your air/fuel management system

its called speed demsity hondas and mustans. have it

and you can't just run the dsm without the intake pipe like the original post said with the stock computer.
