After my timing belt snapped and turned things for the worst, i found that it would be just as expensive to get everything fixed, as it would to just buy an a whole new engine. So, i decided to go with the JDM Cyclone and JDM Galant VR-4 Transmission. I ordered it from Street Imports, and finally after 7 days of waiting, ITS HERE! I've already read a bajillion things about this engine and I think I have everything I need to know about this. I was initially interested in trying to get the JDM intake manifold to fit and work, but it would just be too much of a hassle. I really don't feel like taking the time to make it fit inside the car (as the A/C rack is in the way) and waiting another week for a true Cyclone ECU to get here (to get the runners to function correctly). So I think I'm just gonna throw on the US spec manny (yea i know it flows better, but I was interested in the Cyclone because its better for street use as it allows for a quicker spool). I found a few things that need to get swapped over from my old engine, as the does not come with or will not fit, these include: Cam Angle Sensor, Thermostat housing, Water Pump, Power Steering Pump, Compressor Outlet Elbow, Fuel Feed Line on the Fuel Rail, O2 Sensor, Oil Pump, Oil pan (if its damaged from delivery, haven't checked it yet), and the Valve Cover Breather will need to be hacked. Along with this I need to replace all the belts in the car. I'm swapping over my boost controller, turbo timer, K&N, crushed BOV, CFDF clutch, hacking the MAS and reconnecting my boost gauge. I've also found that I may not be able to use the JDM transmission IF AND ONLY IF it has the part number W5M332Wxxx, due to the fact that it has the incorrect final drive.
Anyways, thanks for reading this and if anyone is aware of any information that has been left out here, please feel free to post it up here. I'll be stopping back to my house alot today because I'm only ripping out my original engine today (after i spent countless hours digging it out of the snow with 3 other people yesterday). Also, if u've already done this swap, post on here and let me know how everything has gone for u, and what problems u have ran into. Thanks
