im going to switch my intake manifold and TB to a 1g IM and 75mmTB but im just wondering if i can get some information on the install and what would i need for the install if any of you dsmers done it befor witch i bet you must have....:D how was it and what kind of gains did you get from the up grade any information would be appreciated thanks guys

and i was looking into the billet 75mm TB from extream psi ..it looks mean and looks right for the up grade with the 1g intake manifold ....what do you guys think??

Probably won't do too much good. The intake ports on your 2nd gen head are
smaller than the 1st g manifold. You will still get about the same amount of air. You can only flow as much as the smaller intake paths are. You would be better off sending your intake manifold and throttle body to a shop and having them bored. FFWD Connection did mine. Give Darren a call and see what he says.

Greg

Keep your 2g intake manifold. Also there is no need for that large of a TB either. Not to mention you won't get it fitted onto a stock manifold.

The larger stock 1g TB is more than enough flow for a majority of the people on this site.

ok so if i stick with my stock oem manifold can i still go with a 1g throttle body i thought those were alot better for our 2g,s

and ive seen on this site and off most 2g guys go with a 1g throttle body i thought it fit right on

thanks for the information this helps alot

Sure you can go with the1g throttle body, you just have to port the flange on the 2g intake manifold. well technically you don't have to but you wouldn' t be doing much good with all that disturbance in air flow.

Yeah I was just going to mention that on my car the previous person had installed the 1g intake mani on the 2g head and I would imagine by the port sizes that there was a lot of air flow disturbance. Huge difference in the port size. Now I got a 2g manifold to put on it when I put the head back on.

Yea sounds good i'm just going to have to go with a 60mm throttle body. Maybe some other time, i have some more part's i want to install befor then. Thanks guys
