In a prior post everone was comparing the HKS cams to the Web cams. Has anyone run the Crower camshafts? They are a Very reputable name and are much cheaper than the HKS. They offer similar grinds as HKS and i was getting ready to order a pair but havent heard good or bad about them..

How much? I have looked around the prices arent that different. HKS cams are just all around the best you can get. Crower is a very reputable name but does not mean the cams for our dsm's are better. HKS if you ask anyone on this site, wiseman, moderators, there going to say HKS. All around best cam for our cars.:thumb:

I was under the impression the HKS cams were like $700+ and the crowers were more like $500?

OK, I just looked them up and the HKS are like $150 more than the crowers. Not to bad for the best i guess. Do you really notice a difference with these cams over stock or is it marginal gain?

The gain of HK$ over Crower is only marginal from all the dyno chart comperisons I've seen.

The BIG think about HK$ is that their quality is better. Most of the time, you can just swap the cams in and go. Crower Cams are nice, and work great... ONCE you degree them. So to get the crowers where they need to be, you'll need to add a pair of CamGears to your total price.

Don't take that as gossple though... HKS can still be off, just less likely.

I really like my crowers now.... but before I degreed them, they where only "OK". In the end, it cost about the same.... took more work with the Crowers, but I have more adjusablity.

Just as a recap here, you DON'T have to degree the HKS cams? I was seriously thinking about getting the crowers, mostly because I thought you'd have to get adjustable gears for either setup.

You should really have adjustable cam gears for any set of aftermarket cams you put on the car but the odds are that you wont need them with the HKS where as with Web or Crower you definitely need them.
