Here's some pics of my recent install of my new HRC fmic. Did it all by myself :) It wasn't too bad but it was time consuming. All in all I think it turned out well. I'm still debating wether or not to put foglights in. We'll see. The ones I like are $210:( The car does feel stronger but we'll see what the dyno says in about month.

here's a pic with all it's teeth

fmic on car. I was impressed how well everything lined up. You do have to do good cutting to get the bumper back on. I cut a little extra bumper off in the front of the ic to allow more air to hit the upper fins. Unfornately my batteries died after this shot and I dont have any shots of the cut bumper or bumper cover. This is a 95 so with these(95-86)fascias you have to do some extra cutting cause of the center spoilers/fins the fascia has from factory.

finished pic. My car is dirty as hell but since we are having a ton of snow, as I type this we are getting 15-18 inches of snow:D , I have not been able to wash it. Daily driver, gotta love it.

Congrats on the front mount man!! I don't really post much here but I'm from De. also. It's such a small state it's nice to see someone local. Pretty funny I have my greddy egt gauge by my shifter also. What were your last dyno result's? I have very similar mods and I am very curious to know what I'm putting down. The best way for me to find that out, I guess, is to have mine dynoed. I just installed a griffin front mount intercooler and am very happy with it. PM me or post something here. Later!!

About how much do they charge you and where do you go for your dynos. I'd like to go sometime. Let me know. You're going with the s20g? I couldn't imagine any more wheel spin than I already have now. I guess I need to learn how to drive!!! Does this snow lick balz or what? Come on summertime!!!! Nice talking to ya. Later.

Wow, that looks REALLY slick man.

Nice install job.

How's that FMIC work? Does the air enter at the top, flow through the top half, then around the end, and back through the bottom half? That's what it looks like. Do you know if that'd cause a large pressure drop? The tubes look big enough to not be much of a restriction at least. And it must cool the air a lot.

The air comes in at the bottom and runs across to the right and then back over to the top pipe. Looking at the IC you can see it has a half-pipe looking bottom-end to it which helps flows. HRC says "Integral crossover section: This intercooler features a unique integral crossover passage incorporated directly into the intercooler case. The internal flow area of this passage is equivalent to a 2.5" round tube." As fpr pressure drop, they say at 572 cfms/400hp pressure drop of .92psi and at 858cfms/600hp pressure drop of 1.61psi. do you have anymore pics of that? I mainly want to see how the inlet and outlet is. looks like they are the same endtank but i'm not sure, I checked HRC website, but there pics arent too good either.

If it is how I think it is, doesnt seem like a good design to have the airflow to make a 180* at one end of the I/C

both pipes come out the same endtank but they are seperated inside of it. I shined a light in there cause I thought the same thing, air is just gonna go straight up and out. But it doesn't. I have done some testing with it. Went out one day and was getting on it for about 20 mins none stop. Pulled over and felt both pips and ic. Inlet pipe was hot as hell and the outlet pipe was ice cold. IC was still cool too. Car does feel stronger especially up top. I'm happy;)

that just seems like a weird setup........ congrats though. it looks super nice.

So you can keep the stock fog lights, or not?

Also what did you use to cut the front grills of the bumper.. must you cut those?

Looks very nice :)

That is the SWEETEST IC I've EVER SEEN!!!! Look how it is bolted up to the fog light location!! That keeps it straight no matter what!! AND YOU GET TO KEEP YOUR FOG LIGHTS!!!!! There is no return pipe like Greddy's, so it won't block the air to your radiator!! It looks clean as hell too!!! I can't wait to get mine, I should have it by the end of the month!!!!

Nice choice.... VERY nice choice... looks good!!!!!:thumb: :thumb:

Thanks guys:) Just curious to see what gains I'll get. As for saving the foglights, they won't fit in there now. They are alittle too big and plus the bracket is removed. 97-99 will keep theirs(basically made for that fascia really). The foglights I like are oval and have a grey housing similar to the ic's color, theCRANKwalker I have considered that ;), so I'm still up in the air on that. Plus its too damn cold out now to even attempt it.
As for cutting tools; I used an electric grinder, circular saw, haxsaw, and hand sheers. Yes you have to cut the fin/spoiler out. Gotta go, gotta go.
Thanks Dave, you were my inspiration:D Seriously tho, I liked the way yours performed and I knew it would fit with my fascia. Plus it rocks:D
Hey larry, when's the next "Dyno Day"? We gotta go again. I know just about everybody from last time has done some nice changes since then. And I know we can get more people this time, right. Let us know
thanks again guys
