Calgary,
I recently picked up a 1000 watt tank circulating heater to help deal with the winters up here and I need some information about the cooling system flow for our 4g63 engines.
I was thinking of hooking it up to the heater hoses as that seems to be the best spot for access, and the hoses are the proper size to fit on to the couplings of the circulator. I need to know which way the coolant flows in order to hook it up correctly, coolant is supposed to go in through the bottom of the circulator and out through the top, so which hose feeds coolant to the heater core, and which hose returns the coolant back through the system?
The manual for the device states that it should be hooked up to the "lowest coolant line that comes from the engine block" So if anyone has a suggestion for a different location to hook it up I'm all ears. Thanks
