So I've learned quite a bit within the last few months about my car, turbos, etc. Typical stuff I can answer, but I'm not too clear on this. The 16G and 18G both use the same compressor side as the 14B. The difference between them is the turbine side and the wheel (of course porting your oulet as well). If this is right, would upgrading be as "simple" as replacing these parts (and other little things)?

Unfortunately it's not that simple. You have to get your housing ported out to fit the new components and if you can't do it yourself the right way, it can cost you more in the end. IF you have a capability to do the porting yourself, there are companies out there that will sell you just the guts of the turbo for about half the price of buying an new one. IMO, you are better off just buying a complete turbo and either selling yours outright or selling it to a company that rebuilds them.

also you hav eto balance the turbo, i ws thinkin about that myself but than i did some reasearch and i was thinkin about just purchasin the turbine, but it will cost you to put the turbine in, i would say do wut i did, buy the whole turbo!
