I just got the autometer EGT gauge and got the gauge mounted, but im not sure of were to install the sensor. I read the fvaq and it said to put it in the #1 runner about 6in away from the block. Ok, but when i looked at the sensor and looked at the size of the manny, it looked like it was too big to fit in. Are you suppose to drill from the side?

don't have my guage yet but I ordered it...I also ordered an intake temperature gauge. do you just drill the hole through the mani or does it need to be threaded as well?

Well that depends on where you want to mount it. Some people like to go and mount 2 gauges. If I had one (and I will soon), Id mount it on the TB elbow. This will give you a fairly accurate reading at what is going insied the motor and will definetly show you changes made. IM drilling isnt the best idea unless your set on seeing what your getting in 1 or 2 of the cylinders. The TB elbow wont be more accurate so to speak, just a little more practical so to speak. oh and make sure you seal it up good

well...I wasn't really talking about the Intake Temp...actually the EGT but thanks for the advise cause I probably would have had that question when I got the guage. Also could having an intake temp gauge help more with tuning combined with EGT gauge. Thats not why I bought it, more of so I could monitor heat soaking the IC and changes in temp when I get FMIC and then a homemade CAI. but for tunning lets say 150 in and 1400 out...that would be really lean but 250 in and 1400 out would not be as lean and would also be due to IC problems. Good, Normal EGT's are 1200 right?

what should I use to seal it? ... I think I might take it to Diamond Star Specialties to have them installed, I don't want to do something wrong and they are just 5 minutes from my house
