I'm installing a boost gauge into a 96 talon, I pulled off the steering column, instrument bezal to try and locate a place to tap into the dimmer. I tried to tap a few lines unsuccessfully. any help is greatly appreciated.

could not find any such wires

found, two black wires one with space's, and one with X's on it,
green with blue stripe, green with yellow stripe, red with space's and red with X's on it....and there is no orange conector like in the vfaQ, it's grey. I think the vfaq pic is from a 1G. the part that is discribed has four connectors, and three wires, no such part in my car. unless it's not located behind the instrument bezel.

thanks alot, I was lookin for the wires behind the instrument bezel, but just like u said they where behind the lighter. evrything seems to be working fine now. thanks agian.

oh, one more thing. when I turn on my car what's the normal idle reading of a boost guage?

I just got done testing it out,

ran 11.5 psi, completly stock
took off my air filter and lower air filter box ran a solid 15 psi
I was shocked!

thanks a lot for all your help.

one mod down! 1G BOV next!

The best place to tap for elec for gauges in the cruise control light on the button near the dash. Works great easy to do, and its really close to the gauges so u dont have wires runnin all over the place.:dsm:

If u hook it up to the light it will. Any place on the dash u can splice from, all those little bulds.

Easiest I think is to just pop out the cruise/fog light control panel on the left side of the gauge cluster and tap into a hot light wire for it, the panel just pops out with a flat tip screwdriver. Cant remember what wire, just use a voltmeter and find one.
