Okay so I just swapped my tranny and tcase. Got everything ready to go, turned it on and... She runs quite well. Besides the fact that the engine compartment is smoking near the manifold. And I blowing blue smoke all the time. I also put in a brand new B16G turbo in. I blocked my water and oil cooled the turbo Instead of both. So ya that's my problem the smokey compartment may be just burning excess oil off. I let it run for about 20 minutes and it still smoked. And my exhaust well really I have no idea why it's blue. I have overheated a couple times but nothing too serious i don't think. You tell me?

#1 hook the water line back up to your turbo. MHI turbos need to be both water and oil cooled. Blue smoke is oil burning and could be from multiple causes. First the turbo could be overheating and burning up the oil inside. Second, are you sure the turbo to manifold gasket seated and sealed properly when you installed the turbo? Also, make sure all of the manifold to head nuts are tight.

Yes, if the turbo has provisions for oil and water then you should run both lines to it. Did you spray the manifold bolts with liquid wrench or get anything on it? If so then it could just be the lubricant/oil burning off the manifold. But that would not explain the smoke out of the exhaust. That is from the water line not being hooked up as was stated.

One or two of the exhaust manifold-to-head stud holes opens up into an oil galley in the head. One of them is on the left side (#4 cylinder), but I forget which one. If you didn't tighten the nut on that stud, oil will leak out around the stud threads when oil pressure goes up in that galley. Some can go into the exhaust manifold, some can go outside. Oil that goes in burns and comes out the exhaust pipe. Oil that goes out burns on the outside of the manifold and smokes up the engine bay. Could be something else, but it's worth checking.

Thanks guys I figured the problem to my rings and seals are gone. My compression is really low on the 4th. I'm doing a rebuild as we speak. I won't be water cooling the turbo though a turbo timer and a well set time should work for cooling it down after runs.
