I've been looking for a catback system, and can't seem to find exactly what I want. I want it to be at least 3", stainless (doesn't have to be, but it'd be nice), come straight out the back, not at an angle, the tip to be offset like the Greddy EVO (I don't want a huge muffler hanging down, completely visable, and scraping on everything), a nice deep rumble, not annoying loud, with top of the line performance. My car is a 2g awd, and I'd get the Greddy EVO, but I don't think they make theirs for awd. I'd get the apexi dunk, but I heard they stopped production on them, and also they're not the best for performance gains. I'd get an apexi N1, but I read they sit at an angle, is it a big angle? I'd get the HKS Super Drager, but it looks like the can is huge on that thing. Any input is greatly appreciated, I'd hate to drop that kind of cash on something and not be happy with it.

It sounds like you have described the Thermal exactly. I think you would be very happy with that system. The sound is great, the fit and finish are excellent and of course it adds a little power. If you want some pics or sound clips let me know.

Hey Salty I'de love to see some sound clips/pics of your thermal. Im gonna decide on a exhaust by the end of the week and so far it looks like the thermal is it. Nobody has anything bad to say about it.

Sweet, didn't know that many people would be interested in some sound clips. I'll post them when I get home from work.

thermal baby....best way to go...extreme sells a full turbo-back w/ an extreme 3" downpipe to a hi-flo cat or test pipe 3" to a 3" stainless thermal catback system for like 1199 or somethin around that range...hi flo cat or test pipe welded on already....or RRE sells a catback TR&D for 500 i believe. go thermal!

I've got some pics of a Thermal/Extreme System on my '95 TSi AWD up on my yahoo pic site: http://photos.yahoo.com/tsimang

Also, remember that the nicely mirrored muffler tip won't be in a few days. The interrior of mine is custom blackened, but it actually helped to lower the sound to a more throaty tone. I'd recommend the Thermal/Extreme system very highly.

I have a thermal on mine also. I love it. I have got a lot of compliments on it. Some older people mainly ask me how do I get the throaty sound from a four cylinder. I just tel them "BALLZ" baby, "BALLZ"

I have a silly question. I used to have a GS-T (you can see it totalled in the gallery) and now a GSX. Why does thermal use 2 different mufflers on their systems?

ok, so where is a great ($$) place to buy one?? i am needy as well

Perfect Catback system = no exhaust :D

j/k... Thermal is the way to go. I'll PM you the best place to get since advertisement is prohibited...

Thermal, Apex and a few other comapnies all make really nice systems, but the price is always high. We www.rnrracing.com can make a catback system that looks exactly like the Apex or Thermal for $350. All mandrel bent and 3" throughout. It sounds awesome and we have had plenty of happy customers. I am just giving you another option in your purchase.
