ok..i test drove a 92 gsx today and i wanted to know what you guys thought might be the problem with it..

it ran very smooth is in pretty clean shape for being so old the tranny shifted smooth..

but i dont think it was boosting where it should be.. i almost took it to redline and the gauge never really went over 7 pounds..

i heard the stock guage is a piece of #### anyways..so i didnt pay much mind to that.. but i never really heard the hiss nor did i hear a blow off anytime i shifted.. other then the turbo not appearing to work at all the car was in great shape i would say..

so my question is..could the problem be something as simple as vacume lines or something??.. or would that mean that just the turbo itself is ####ed?? i really dont know what to get out of the whole thing.. but i do want to buy it for a second car... any input is appreciated..thanx!!!

so would the worst case scenario be the turbo is fuct and i need to onnly relpace that???...

did you feel the turbo? i am pushing 15 psi of boost and when i do so my stock only shows 7 lbs but my aftermarket gauge shows 15psi. NEVER trust to the stock at ALL!! make sure and do a compression test before buying it. maybe it's a boost leak.

i have a built 91 tsi for sale 16g and all, im up in portland though,
and those stock boost gauges are junk for accuacy but they will still go all the way positive under full boost 14psi or whatever it is.so check it out and let me know if portland isnt to far.

tyler

yeah.sorry im down in az and thats a little far for me..and im only spending about 2 thousand..or so.. thanx for the input though..

I thought the Turbo was blown in my car, couldn't feel the boost, no CBV sounds yada yada. Turns out the wastegate actuator arm had poped off allowing the waste gate to be open all the time...not a good thing, i poped it back on and its as good as new:thumb:
