Okay, I just got my car back after having a timing belt done and the newer AFC (had old one) installed. I found out that I was only running about 3-3.5 cylinders b/c a rocker arm broke and luckily, the valve just sat there and never opened (as oppossed to opening and the broken rocker arm meeting #3 piston;-) Anyway, when I come up to a stoplight or stop sign and press in the clutch, the RPMs drop pretty quickly and the car justs ends up stalling. It almost appears that sometimes the RPM's try to catch themselves aroung 2-300 but it's too late by then. I have all the honeycombs and I did have the screw backed out all the way. I moved the screw back in a good ways to see if it would do anything but that didn't help. Any ideas? I really need some help with this, the car is impossible to drive like it is. Thanks.

this shouldn't be in this forum but did you mess with the BOV? like venting it to atomosphere?

there is a screw on the TB that u can back out some till u reach about 1100 rpm so when u drop the clutch, it goes down to 800 or so and there u go, quick fix :). watch out though, might sound like CW hahahaha- i love my 1st gen

Check for: vacuum leaks, properly adjusted BISS, base timing, SAFC settings changed? If you paid someone to do it and they are competent, take it back to them and tell them it didn't do this before--fix it.

The BOV is not vented. I'll try to adjust the BISS screw but I don't know how to ground the ISC. I've had the AFC at the base settings and the RRE recommened settings and it does it either eay. I'm guessing there must be a leak somewhere. 2-0Turbo, you're right, hopefully it'll go back tomorrow.

BTW, don't think it's crankwalk. It's a '95 with 103k on the motor. It was made in late '94 so I think it's got a good block. In the off chance that it's not, bye bye GSX hello Supra;)

or check the simple things first like the battery cables might be loose,or worn out. mine car did that and i tightened the cables more and it fixed it

Another possibility is that the battery was disconnected when the car was in the shop and the ECU got reset. My idle is very low for a couple days whenever I have to disconnect the battery to clear a CEL because of my test pipe. If this is the reason for your idle problems, just give the ECU a little time to eventually "relearn" how to idle the car and it'll be fine.

yeh my eclipse and I have heard that other ones are very picky with the battery and electric circuit...I would check you battery cables and make sure they are securely on the posts and not moveable with just your hand, also ground that wire you were talking about wires that aren't grounded correctly can cause horrible problems and are a very easy fix. and I would also reset you ECU just to make sure...to do that just have you ignition on but car not running take off the negative post take the keys out then let it sit for a minute put the cable back on and make sure it is very secure...then turn on your car, if you have mods done it should idle crappy, then just make sure it is outside and not in a garage so you don't stink up the garage and let it sit just idling not pressing the gas AT ALL for 10-15 minutes (I know that seems like a long time but it will make sure your ECU get completely re set.

I have the same problem with my '95.. I read somewhere that it is caused by a faulty design in the brake booster in our 2nd gen cars. It seems that as they get older they either leak vacuum or something to that effect. DETAILS?... don't ask.. If I remember where I read this, I'll update ya!
Peace
