Does this setup look good for a daily driven 12sec car ?

The car is a FWD A/T 2g. Here are my plans :

* SBR-GT12 or AGP L2R
* 660cc or 720cc injectors
* This Intercooler dimensions are 25.5" x 8" x 5"
* HKS 272s
* Drag Radials
* Metal head gasket
* Translab shift kit

Here is what's been done :

* Walbro 255 high pressure pump
* 1g Intake Manifold
* 2g ported head
* S-AFC

I heard the transmission might slip, I have no idea how true that is though, can anyone with knowledge on auto dsm trannys give me an idea ?

The other basic stuff can be seen on my profile. My exhaust needs to be redone also, but I guess that didn't have to be mentioned :|

Well A lot of auto guys usually get a shift kit and a higher stall converter for the tranny. Aside from the normal stuff to support a turbo the gt-12 is pretty big and can support a lot of power. For the best info on setting one up contact Mike Huml from slowboy and he will accomodate you.

BTW- that is by far the ugliest intercooler I have ever seen. It is also probablu very inneficient. Ricardo I remember talking with you while ao about this stuff. Make sure you talk to someone before you order any poarts and for the love of god DO NOT BUY THAT INTERCOOLER

guys... looks are not everything, just because the intercooler is ugly does not mean it performs poorly. The guy who made that intercooler is my friend and he assured me it is very efficient :)

Ohhh, how I fear for our generations if the people on this board ever procreate. So, just because he assured you it's very efficient, all is well?? I have nice ocean front property in New Mexico I'll sell ya too. I'm sure your friend performed tests to verify efficiency, flow, pressure drop, etc?? Yeah, didn't think so. I'm sure he also told you that brick will impede flow to the radiator and may cause overheating problems in the future. Sucker born every minute.

Well this was a trade, I had couple of things sitting here at home I didn't need anymore and I decided to trade em for that intercooler. I hope it works good, my friend said it will flow around 800cfm.

Did you not read the above. I can say that my ass flows 1600cfm (which some days after mexican food, it just may), however, without testing, it's all smoke blown up your rear. I will guarantee that if you were to run that IC and then switch to a known efficient one (aka, Spearco 2-221, etc) you would notice a HUGE difference. But, it appears you do not want to listen to advice from people that know.

Ricardo,

Don't use that intercooler dude. I have never seen anything quite like that so I couldn't even compare it to anything to really tear it apart. Good front mount setups are not as expensive as you might think if you look around, and a good intercooler is essential to making proper reliable power on a 4 cylinder that needs to see higher cylinder pressure in order to make power, and needs it as efficiently as possible.

Regards,

Ricardo,
I'm afraid I have to agree with what the others here are saying about that intercooler. The actual surface area for airflow doesn't look big enough to support an L2R-sized turbo, since the end caps are so huge. It may be a slight upgrade over the stock sidemount, but you will probably need to look for something else as a permanent solution.

Well, maybe it will not be able to handle the gt12 or l2r, but I'm going to use it for now anyway, I'm sure it will be a lot better for the t28. I'm going to flow test it before I try on the big turbo so it's all good :)

All the other stuff doesn't matter, because without a converter that can brake stall at 3500+ the car ain't going to get out of its own way, and it will end up doing Supra times- 13.0@120.

That's true, but I'm not really looking for a track car or red light racing so the stall converter will probably not do me any good. I just mentioned 12s as an estimative. Thanks for the input thou :)
